The most ignored part of our body when taking a shower is our feet. Most people believe that simply because warm water is running over them they are automatically getting cleaned. What needs to be kept in mind is the fact that our feet still attract germs and need to be washed and pampered properly daily. It is fairly simple to properly wash your feet each day with very little effort exerted. A little bit of extra effort can also have you standing atop feet that are not only clean, but quite beautiful as well.  

There are a number of ailments that can be alleviated or treated through the proper maintenance of our feet. With that being said, the following is a collection of methods for a thorough foot washing. Before you begin, you will need the following:

  • A basin filled ¾ with hot water
  • A cotton towel
  • A pumice stone for the removal of dead skin
  • A gentle cream

Lemon has the ability to help in the healing of cracks. The best way to incorporate lemon into your cleaning regimen was to add a few drops of the juice into the basin. Soak your feet for approximately 20 minutes prior to scrubbing of the dead skin.  

Vinegar

For those that tend to have incredibly sweaty feet, vinegar is a wonderful option. Add a bit a tablespoon of vinegar to the basin and soak your feet until the water becomes warm. Add a bit more hot water and continue to soak for an additional ten minutes; then rinse and shower as usual.

Gather a handful of sweet smelling flowers, remove the petals from the stems and crush them. Once thoroughly crushed, add the petals to the basin of hot water. Soak your feet for twenty minutes, then add a drop of either essential oil or orange juice.

Honey

Should you be a person that suffers from chronically dry feet, the use of honey will leave them silky smooth. Simply massage the honey onto your feet and let them sit for a minimum of ten minutes. After that time has lapsed, soak your feet in the basin of hot water. Use the pumice stone to remove the dead skin, rinse thoroughly and pat dry with the cotton towel.

Tomato Juice

Tomato juice is able to assist in the removal or tan, cracked heels. Simply scrub your feet daily with the juice and results will become noticeable within a matter of washes.  

Onion Juice

 If you are a person that suffers from cracks on the soles of your feet, this is the method that you will need. Do note that there will be a level of stinging, but the results are well worth it. When used twice per week, quick healing will result.  

Shampoo

Rather than used soap on your feet, opt for a mild shampoo. The best way to implement this method is, once you have shampooed your head and scalp, use the foam to clean your feet. Add just a touch more shampoo to the foam base and begin cleaning your feet.  

Tea Tree Oil

To keep your feet soft and supple while offering you a bit of relaxation after a rigorous day, tea tree oil is ideal. Simply wash your feet while in the shower and massage the oil in after your feet have been thoroughly dried.  This method will keep you calm and balance while your feet remain supple and soft.  

Orange Juice foot soakOrange Juice

Due to the fact that orange juice is rich in Vitamin C, it is ideal for tanned feet. For this method, simply rub the juice all over your feet and let them sit for no more than 15 minutes. Then rinse the dried juice from your feet.  This should be done a minimum of twice per week for optimal results.

Salt Solution

This is an excellent exfoliate that will keep your feet free from dead cells. Gently rub the salt on your feet using the palm of your hand thoroughly. From there, allow your feet to soak in essential oil water for a minimum of 10 minutes. Finally, use a scrubber to further remove the dead skin from your feet, rinse and pat dry.
