Detailed Review of the Sharper Image MSG-F110 Deep Kneading Shiatsu Foot Massager
Design and Durability (3.0/5.0)
The Shiatsu heads of this portable mechanical massager do a fair job of massaging the feet. They are all positioned very well to really target the acupuncture points on the upper, middle and lower part of the feet. One of the downsides is the lack of an ergonomic design. It would have been better if the massager itself fits the arches of the feet, so that the Shiatsu heads knead a lot better. There isn’t any way to also control the speed of the Shiatsu heads, so you got to be used on how fast it rotates onto your feet. The toe-touch control feature is also helpful, as you need not to bend over just to make some adjustments. The switch can be easily pressed using your toe, although this may not be helpful at all for someone experiencing pain on the feet. Moreover, the motor is pretty strong. It’s able to handle a heavy weight, although the motor noticeably slows down a bit. Finally, the security feature of the massager is the icing of the cake. Its heating option has a way of turning off the massager automatically after 15 minutes.
Ease of Use (5.0/5.0)
This is one of the easiest foot massagers to operate. It just has a button that you can press once to turn it on or twice to enable the heating option, and that’s it!
This mechanical massager is effective enough in relieving foot pains. Its six Shiatsu balls rotate and knead onto the muscles of the feet to perfectly perform the massage. Both the heating option and the vibrating effect seem to complement well in producing a soothing effect on aching or stressed foot muscles. The Shiatsu heads also seem to rotate fast, though I can live with it. For those who want to take things slow, this may negatively affect the massaging experience just a little bit.
At $119.95, I find this foot massager a bit expensive, although it’s cheaper than other models. There are some features missing, like a way of adjusting the speed of the rotating heads, that could have made this mechanical massager perfect at its current price.
- Efficient in terms of relieving feet tensions
- Safe to use, automatically turns heating option off after 15 minutes
- Easy to use
- Very portable

- Lacks ergonomic design
The Sharper Image MSG-F110 Deep Kneading Shiatsu Foot Massager (Black) is recommended for those looking for a very easy way of massaging their feet. Although it lacks some useful controls, its Shiatsu heads are strategically positioned to massage parts of the foot that often experience stress and tensions.
